Playful Activities for
Parents and Teachers who
Teach Guide Enjoy Inspire
Young Children Preschool through Grade 3
The increasing focus on play and on family math as important teaching strategies for young children and their families brings fresh relevance to lessons learned from Learning and Leadership in Families (LearnLead), a non-profit organization dedicated to parent and community engagement in early childhood education active from 1993 - 2015. LearnLead’s programs use a distinctive learning model that adapts museum education strategies to early childhood goals to help parents (and teachers) tap into their own creativity to teach, guide and enjoy their young children.
The goals of the website are to:
Expand the use of the learning model to energize home, school and community activities around playful learning.
Identify partners with whom to further test and expand LearnLead’s family math work.
Transfer LearnLead programs to active non-profit organization(s) or research environment(s) for further development.
Materials are available for review at no cost to professionals in exchange for feedback on how the work fits with your objectives. Use the contact form to start the process.
